An EMT is an Emergency Medical Technician. This is a fast-paced, high intensity career where you are responsible for people's lives. EMTs, and those working in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in other capacities, are in high demand.
What EMTs do:
- Assess injury
- Administer emergency medical care
- Extricate trapped individuals
- Transport injured or sick people to medical facilities
In Washington, the need for EMTs and paramedics is expected to grow by 23% through 2018.1
